Dog-Gone Chapman Thoughts
The recent flap over the racist epithets of Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman in a secretly taped and sold recording bring to mind several thoughts. First, Dog has been an accident looking for a place to happen. Now it has happened. It was almost inevitable, considering his obvious lack of discipline or self-control coupled with intense public attention on everything he did.Second, I am prepared to accept his contrite apologies. Why? He emphasized his principal complaint with the individual he verbally attacked was lack of character. I think that in anger he was casting about for more to say and wandered into politically incorrect territory.
Third, the compulsion in America to be politically correct has been a very worrisome development for some time now. And it keeps getting worse. Remember, the people of Nazi Germany were politically correct. Ditto Stalin in USSR. Then there is Cuba and North Korea today. Exaggeration? Certainly. But where is it heading?
Fourth, in their reactions, the public and the media did not bother to consider the facts, circumstances, or human fragility. Instead, the network and the big advertisers simply dropped him like a hot potato.
Fifth, there are the reprehensible ones who make their living feeding on and perpetuating and fostering victimhood. They make a living keeping victim groups victims. They have the incentive of power, money, and fame (or all three) as they work to cause, manifest, foster, and extend victim problems, real or perceived, into perpetuity. They were on to this situation in spades.
Sixth, the Black Victimhood Industry (BVI) people want you to feel guilty. Don’t. You did not do anything. Dog did. The ones that ought to be guilt-ridden should be the ones who want opportunities like Dog presents to grow like a cancer. Then their power will grow.
Seventh, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me” is a mature reaction to hateful talk. President Bush handles such daily. And the things said about him have substance, as they mostly relate to something he did, didn’t do etc. A racial slur is empty. A person’s ancestry is a complete and utter accident. None of us had/have control over it. To use a racial slur about another is to reveal, like a neon sign, utter stupidity. In other words, an empty head. Which goes well with an empty word.
Now let’s practice our maturity and get over it.

HawaiiReporter.com reports the real news
There was another silly rumor put out by the Rag mags today, about Dog and Beth splitting up. This is 100% fertilizer and here is a short bit released to us from Dog’s rep.
——————————————————————————————————————–Thanks so much for your continued concern re the Chapmans and DTBH. Duane is fine and still working hard, and continuing to discuss plans with his family and trusted friends. He and Beth are fine – despite rumors of a possible split-up in those silly tabloids. They get so many facts wrong, it amazes me they are all still in business. Duane and Beth keep each other strong, and the family is a strong unit. They will be fine – they pray and have faith in the Lord to see them through all adversity.
Re the show, A&E has still not totally canceled them, so that is still a possibility for the future. Right now, Duane is focusing on his community work rather than the show. He made a sincere apology and promise, and wants to live up to them and make things right before moving forward on anything else.
I share your messages with them, and that really keeps them positive and hopeful – so thank you so much! That is really the best thing you can do…lifting the spirit is the best gift of all!

For DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER
There is not one lick of truth to the rumor of Dog going to Spike TV. There have been no talks and none planned. The Spike rumor is completely and utterly false.
As far as A&E, though they have not said it, the show is pretty much canceled. There are no reruns, the show has stopped all production and there are no talks at all in regards to the show returning. At this point, the show on A&E is dead in the water and unless we can convince A&E to bring it back, it will not be returning.
I am writing to support K. Gilreath’s call for action (Hawaii Reporter, 11/16/2007) against A&E for taking Duane “Dog” Chapman’s show off the air just because of his racist comments. I mean the History Channel shows clips of Hitler all the time, and he was the king of racism, wasn’t he? PBS even had show on the Ku Klux Klan. Tell me the KKK is an equal opportunity employer. Gilreath made another great point too. A&E is cheating us out of a basic right – the right to decide what we get to see on TV. Even though I couldn’t find the specific passage, I am sure that there is something about TV somewhere in the US Constitution. Gilreath gets to the meat of the matter in asking, “Since when is it up to a television network and it’s [sic] sponsors to dictate to people what they are going to watch without asking the viewers or checking the ratings first?”
Right on, Gilreath. I have been writing to the major networks for years complaining about the complete lack of programs on agricultural practices in Micronesia during the 1700-1800’s. But, do you think they listen? No, they don’t even respond to my e-mails anymore! What makes a parent company of a TV network think that, just because they own the network, they can unilaterally decide which shows to broadcast? Even though I am not a shareholder of any network-owning company, doesn’t my mere existence as a US citizen guarantee my right to influence programming decisions? (the Constitution will, I’m sure, back me up on this point).
Anyway, back to “Dog” Chapman. I never actually saw the Bounty Hunter show, but if Gilreath wants to watch a bad guy catch other bad guys and throw them in jail, I say Gilreath should have that right. Powerful corporations, with billions or even trillions in assets, should be ashamed if they think they can dictate the choices of “little people” like Gilreath and me, especially when it comes to life’s really important decisions, like what TV shows we get to watch.

Editors Note: For those that may wonder, this is in fact the real Baby Lysssa.
There was some fuss in the press this past fall, about a fight in San Fran between Sonny and a guy named Don Frye. A bunch of press and gossip types said the guy was sucker punched if you remember the false stories that came out. Here is a video that just came out of what really happened, it was one punch and out, no sucker punch at all
