BETH CHAPMAN HEARTBROKEN OVER LOSS OF STEPFATHER, DONALD JOHANNSEN

Honolulu, HI – Beth Chapman and her husband, Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, of CMT’s “Dog and Beth: On The Hunt” are sad to announce the passing of Beth’s father, Donald Johannsen of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Below is a statement from Beth.

“A couple days ago my father (step) of 36 years passed away suddenly. I was blessed with two fathers — one who had to love me and one who chose to love me (Donald). I feel the same about both fathers – they both loved me unconditionally, but Don held my feet to the fire, built my character, and made me a better person for it. I will always love him and remember him fondly. Aloha a hui hou, Don … until we meet again!”

Donald Johannsen, 77, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Dec. 1 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. Johannsen worked for the Public Service Company of Colorado for over 32 years. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church, and a master woodworker, avid golfer, and Denver Broncos fan. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bonnie Johannsen of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sons, Scott Johannsen of Denver, Colo., Kurt Johannsen and wife, Marilyn, of Speedway, Ind.; one daughter, Suzette Cachilli; stepsons, Randy Smith of Clearwater, Fla., Timothy Smith of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughters, Melinda Lehmann of Houston, Texas, Laurie Gallegos and husband, David, of Denver, Colo., Alice E. Chapman and husband, Duane, of Honolulu, Hawaii; three sisters, Elsie Coplea, Jean Peterson and Florence Custer, all of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Beth Chapman is en route to Arkansas to help with coordinating the services at Bella Vista Funeral Home. Duane Chapman and the family will be joining her next week.
